Re: api library revision mismatch
Stanley,

Where are you getting this error? Is it referring you to a particular file?

Typically API Version mismatches occur when an older version of an FLL is present. Since you are upgrading from 3x, one of the older FLLs may have found their way into your install.

The dates of the FLL files in the 6XLIBS folder should be as follows:
FFWINPRN.FLL 10/17/2001
FOXTOOLS 2/6/2006
JKEY.FLL 2/6/2006

Re: api library revision mismatch

Andrew:

Here's what I have done:

  1. performed a default installation of ff80 to c:\ff80
  2. started via ffstart9. foxfire started (and still does) without error.
  3. selected "Tools->Upgrade from a previous version" from the main menu in order to upgrade my 3.0+ installation. i pointed the upgrade routine to my 3.0+ installation, and it ran to completion without error.
  4. ran the distribution wizard to prepare a folder that could be distributed with my app. i selected the report sets just created by the upgrade routine and the distrib wizard ran to completion without error.
  5. copied the folder created by the distribution wizard to my app's directory structure
  6. then, to test, i started VFP9, set default to the foxfire folder (within my app's directory) and issued the following:

DO foxfire WITH 'Requests', 'System', '', 'ffconfig.prg'

That's when the error is thrown. After "ignoring" the error, foxfire appeats to start normally. I can't really tell if it's working normally because none of the upgraded reports will run (a story for another day, but foxfire throws errors on all of them at this point). The date on all 3 of the fll's listed above is 10/17/2001.

Another question. I frequently get a Foxfire error when running requests with one of my upgraded (from 3.0+) preference sets that states "Variable rq_name not found etc etc". Any ideas?

Re: api library revision mismatch
One more thing. I searched my entire hard drive for jkey.fll, and found no instance newer than 10/17/2001. I did find some copies dated 8/20/1996 that were in 3.0+ folders.

Re: api library revision mismatch
On the JKEY issue, even in the FF80\6XLIBS folder?

Perhaps you could download FF8 again and compare those files with the ones you have.
