Report Lay Out
Hello,
I have converted my customer from FF 3.0 to FF 8.0. I used the upgrade wizard to do this. My customer has numerous reports with a lot of fields on it. When they run these reports in FF 8.0 it cuts the fields off and also moves them to a second line. This has almost tripled the pages used when they run the report. Yes I have used the fit to page option and this does not help.
I tried convincing the customer to take out some of the fields (that I didn't feel were needed) The problem that I get with this idea is that it worked in FF 3.0 so it should work in FF 8.0.
I feel they make a good point on this.

I ran the reports in both versions and compared and it is very obvious that version 3.0 is using a smaller font. I can manually change this in the report editor and get the report going. But I have over 860 request with a large quantity that would have to be changed. Is there a way to force the whole report to use a smaller font with out editing each item?

Re: Report Lay Out
Yes - are they all using the same Template? (like Presentation?)

If so, go into the System Admin and go to the Template Designer. Choose Presentation and then change the detail line item font to the smaller font. That should be all you need to do.

Re: Report Lay Out
If they continue to have the same problem, please export the report and send it to andrew@foxfirereporting.com

Re: Report Lay Out
I tried going through the template editor and I get an error when trying to open through that. I sent you a bug report of the error. Will opening it up manually through vfp work the same?

Re: Report Lay Out
No - you shouldn't need to edit through VFP. You're not changing the layout itself but rather the template itself on the Layout tab of the editor.

If you go to the Detail Band, right-click and choose Change Appearance , you should be able to change the font size there.
