wrong version
Dear Sir:

I just installed the FF V8+, and tried to call foxfire from my FOXPRO 2.6 window command prompt by typing:

DO FOXFIRE

I receive the following error message.

Object file c:\ff80\foxfire.app is the wrong version

Please help, Thank you.

Re: wrong version
Foxfire! 8+ runs with Visual FoxPro 8 and 9 runtimes only. You can still use it to access FoxPro 2.x tables however.

Download the runtime from the links on the main page here.

To start Foxfire!, simply run the FFSTART8 or FFSTART9 program from your Windows Explorer.
Let us know if this does not clear it up for you.

Re: wrong version

Just to clarify, the Visual FoxPro 9 runtime libraries are available for download from our site. We can make the Visual FoxPro 8 runtime libraries available to anyone who needs them instead.

If you are run Foxfire! with the version 9 runtime libraries, use FFSTART9 to launch it. If run with the version 8 runtime libraries, use FFSTART8 to launch it.

This may be obvious, but I suggest you edit your response to include it, and delete my response because mine will then be superfluous.

Re: wrong version
Thank you for your reply. My situation is I am running an application written in FOXPRO 2.6 for Windows. I want to generate a report within my application (still in FOXPRO 2.6 for WINDOWS) and convert to PDF format file using FOXFIRE. Is it possible to do it ? Thank you

Re: wrong version
I replied to this in the Sales forum, suggesting you run Foxfire! as a separate application from within your application (which you could easily do) or to install a PDF Report engine and then print to it as you would to a regular printer.
