Long Memo fields - what are the options?
Modified By chick on 5/10/2007 4:14:31 PM)

What control do I have over the display of large memo fields. Can the width be adjusted? What happens when they are so long, they run over more than one page? What happens if its more that two pages? Please explain how Foxfire! could help me deal with these critters.

Re: Long Memo fields - what are the options?
When you set up a data item for a memo, Foxfire! assigns it a default width of 30. You can increase or decrease this width as needed either temporarily on a given request (via the Change Appearances dialog) or permanently (via the Edit Data Items or Data Item Editor).

Foxfire! will automatically wrap any text within the memo field around that width and it will flow over multiple pages as needed.

Another option is to force the memo field to appear on a second line. This has the added benefit of not taking up a separate column on the main detail line (Foxfire! lets you have two detail lines). As with the widths, you can do this on a per-request level (via Change Appearance) or permanently through the Data Item Editor.
